Migration of Zend-based cms website to WordPress

With our partners, we have migrated a website based on the proprietary cms implemented with the Zend framework to the WordPress system.

During the implementation, this proprietary CMS was a big qualitative leap and had an unquestionable advantage over the existing solutions such as Joomla, Drupal or WordPress in the context of customer requirements, which over time and the rapid increase in the popularity of WordPress over a few years was leveled.

In terms of migration, there was the transfer of structured categorized content, including product categories, products, product options, news and company pages, accompanying photo galleries, etc.

One of the ready-made WordPress skins, adapted to the graphic design of the Partner, was used to implement the website. The partner introduced a new corporate identification system. The enriched layout of subpages was made using the new WordPress editor. In line with the high requirements for search engine friendliness, in particular the mobile friendly version, the mobile version of the website skin was optimized. The system of friendly links and title / meta-description optimization was recreated using the functionalities available in WordPress and the YoastSEO plugin without losing the availability of indexed resources.

Among the solutions implemented with the help of WordPress plugins, there were forms, incl. a quote form using the Caldera plugin, after comparing the functionalities offered by various other plugins, such as WPForms, Ninja Forms, Formidable Forms Contact Form 7 in the context of the best adjustment to the requirements of the website being played.

After publishing the website in the new system, organic traffic from the Google search engine increased by approx. 35% per month.
